Julie DeMarco, DVM, CVA
Thank you for visiting our website and I look forward to meeting you soon. A little background on me: I was born in Ohio but then grew up in many places including California, Colorado, Athens, Greece and Brussels, Belgium. In 1992, I received my BS in Zoology from the University of California at Davis. With this degree I taught educational programs at Sea World of Orlando for one year then went on to become an Animal Care Specialist (zoo keeper) at Sea World. I was so fortunate to be able to care for and interact with dolphins, manatees, killer whales, sea lions, seals, river otters and more!
I earned my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida in 2002 and worked as an Associate Veterinarian and a Relief Doctor before opening Whole Pet. My acupuncture certification is from the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
What makes the Chi Institute program unique in the US is that it trains American veterinarians how to achieve more successful treatments based on Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnoses, instead of only Western diagnoses.
Whole Pet Veterinary Care, LLC is a reflection of my deep beliefs in high quality veterinary care and honest business practices. Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have questions, concerns, or suggestions.

Jenifer
Veterinary Technician
A little about me, I am the lead surgery technician at Whole Pet Veterinary Care. I joined the team in 2019.
My career in the veterinary field has spanned 13+ years. I began as an assistant and loved it so much that I decided to enter a veterinary technician program. After two years of school and clinical practice I graduated from San Diego Mesa College with an associate degree in science - Animal Health Technology. I have experience primarily with small animals but I’ve worked with large, avian & exotics, as well as pocket pets. I love veterinary medicine. It is challenging, dynamic and infinitely rewarding.
At home I have two dogs; Gaz and Peter Barker, a cat named Checkers, and four very mischievous ferrets named Lilith, Loki, Luna, and Link. It’s a mouth full, I know. I enjoy spending time with my family, getting out and experiencing just about everything Oregon has to offer, reading and playing video games.
I’m proud to be working with the amazing staff at Whole Pet Veterinary Care and look forward to providing your pet with exceptional care.
JoDanna
Office Manager, Veterinary Assistant
I started working in the veterinary field at age 14 in my hometown White Salmon, WA and have worked at vet hospitals ever since (14+ years). In my career, I’ve had the chance to work with exotic animals like tigers, wolves, owls, foxes, and lemurs! I also spent a year working with large animals, where I primarily did calving and lambing. I graduated from Oregon State University with an Animal Science and Business/Entrepreneurship degree. My dog’s name is Jersey, she is a springer and is a true companion. We enjoy being outside, hiking, camping, fishing...
Jessica
Receptionist
Hello my name is Jessica and I enjoy the outdoors, walking, hiking, running, camping, and spending time with my friends, family, and my dogs. I grew up in the Willamette Valley on a farm with horses, cows, ducks, goats, cats, and dogs. This is where my love of animals came from and I knew at a very young age I was going to work with animals. I have been working in the veterinary field for nearly 16 years, first as a receptionist and then cross-trained as a veterinarian assistant. At Whole Pet you will see me most often at the front desk, but my skill set allows me to help in all areas of the hospital. My love for the ones that have no voice, but huge hearts, grows with each year I spend in the veterinary field.
Liz
Technician Assistant
Hello, my name is Liz. I was born in San Francisco, California and because my father was in the Navy, my early years were spent living in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Virginia. I feel lucky that I was able to grow up seeing different places. My family moved to Salem in the summer of 1999 and I have remained here since then.
I completed the Veterinary Assistant program at Linn-Benton Community College and have been with Whole Pet since June of 2017. My love for animals has been a part of my life since I was a child. I enjoy being able to continue to learn everyday from an awesome and capable team.
When I’m not working, I’m usually with my fiance and close friends, reading, watching movies, and adventuring with my three crazy dogs whose names are June, Ted, and Santiago. I am absolutely in love with my little pack and I look forward to meeting yours.
